Intro
Author and teacher Kimberly Purcell grew up in Victoria BC, little did she realize that Victoria which is derived from victor was to be a foreshadowing of the victories she would eventually live out in her life! Writing her first book in 5th grade called the "The Mystery of the Poison Ivy" from the inspiration of her teacher Mrs. Aalto. , Kimberly went on to Study International relations at University of British Columbia, Broadcast Journalism at British Columbia Institute of Technology and Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Her experience, expertise and passion for writing landed her various opportunities to become a Writer at Disney Hyperion and Former Writer at Penguin Books. Today she lives in my old stomping ground Brooklyn NY. You can find her on Facebook holding drop-in classes that will teach you to write your own novel.

Jessica Walker CEO and Founder of JW Learning Adventures felt the nudge, then pull, then push, back in February, to create this content because of the amazing progress and fun her children were having while learning. Jessica's goal was for them to love and appreciate learning and the process of learning. She knew that if there was just one other person out there that could find it as valuable as she did, then sharing it would be not just worth it but the call of her life!

Dr. Deanna Westedt is a teacher turned homeschooling momma. After 21 years in education and earning a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Carolina, she left that world to focus on her own two boys’ education. She believed that her twice-exceptional boys deserved to be exactly what they were…exceptional! She found that homeschooling provided her the opportunity to scaffold and build my boys’ abilities while also shining a light on their strengths.

Former math Teacher Dr. Stanley Schmidt speaks to us about the Life of Fred which is a series of math books for students in early elementary through college.
The Life of Fred Covers everything from basic numeracy to complex analysis. What is great about the Life of Fred is that is takes a literature-based approach to teaching math.
The Life of Fred series consists of humor-filled illustrated books that use an engaging story-driven instructive approach, rather than the traditional textbook.
The Life of Fred is a wide-ranging math series, not only compared to programs that use a narrative or literature-based approach, but compared to most homeschool math programs in general.
Life of Fred is most well known for its elementary series, intended for grades 1-4.
This Life of Fred series comprises of10 books and has a relatively unconventional naming structure that represents levels A-J in a somewhat more amusing manner.
Despite its unusual approach of teaching math through a story, Life of Fred is a complete math curriculum.
Number of Lessons: 24 Chapters. It is not broken up into daily lessons.

Homeschooling is not one size fits all. Every student has different needs, every family has different resources, and all schooling is not done at home.
There is virtually no such thing as age appropriate education just levels (as long as the material is wholesome). You can teach your child what you know in the industry you work in, they will be able to understand.

Jennifer White began working with Inspired Virtual just after the pandemic. The online platform was created when the in-person microschool was forced to go online. The model transferred into an effective online community and the platform expanded to offer classes to a wider audience. In addition to her work with Inspired Virtual she and her husband host a website called Should I Homeschool, as another way to encourage parents who are undecided to take the next steps and try homeschool for one year. Aside from teaching her own children and teaching for Inspired Virtual, she speaks at homeschooling events and encourages parents who are just starting to think about homeschooling to commit to trying it for just one year. That's her passion, encouraging parent to just go for it!

Being a credentialed teacher is more of a hinderance than a benefit when teaching homeschool, lots of unlearning to do. Homeschooling despite the name is done more outside the home than in doors!
When you homeschool you can meet the child where they are by either challenging them or remediating for them.
Homeschooling allows for a connection between parent and child or teacher and child that you don't normally get in a brick-and-mortar school situation.
