She has written two child development books, Toddler Discipline for Every Age and Stage and Baby's First Year Milestones and is the lead instructor for all of Child of the Redwoods’ current programs. Her Big Dream? To make Montessori affordable and accessible to parents all over the world.
Aubrey and David founded Child of the Redwoods in 2017 to provide high quality, developmentally aligned online courses and curriculum to parents.
Top three takeaways
Most people don't know that children are basically capable of teaching themselves. Our role as teachers/homeschoolers is better thought of as guiding rather than instructing.
Montessori is for every child because it is developmentally based and individualized - but it's not necessarily for every parent.
How Child of the Redwoods aims to continue this work but outside of the school system. Our goal is to help parents understand their children deeply so that teaching is intuitive.

Brittany Stordahl Founder of Promises School K-12 Brittany and her husband decided to homeschool their first son because of the failures of the public school system. After seeing the transformation in her son’s education, they decided to start homeschooling their other son when he was scheduled to enter Transitional Kindergarten. Through homeschooling, she was able to challenge him based on his needs and move him along at a quicker pace. Most importantly, homeschooling has given them the most wonderful memories with her children. You never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
Brittany wholeheartedly believes her success was because she had a kind and knowledgeable person there to support, guide, and offer her wisdom. And this is what Promises School k-12 offers you. For families who cannot homeschool, they offer parents and guardians the freedom to choose the curriculum they want to use to meet their child’s needs through their Independent-Study program. They recognize that education is not “one size fits all,” and that children have unique needs.
They believe all families should have the freedom to choose an education program to meet every child’s unique needs and allow for flexibility. Their Independent- Study program offers curriculum that is engaging and can be tailored to your child’s interests. Regardless of which program you decide is best for your family, Promises School K-12 will be there for you. Promises School K-12 recently opened in Montana, they are now able to serve students residing anywhere in California and Montana.
Top three takeaways
Homeschooling is a wonderful gift but it is not easy.
Our children are the future and we need to make sure they are protected and given the best education possible.
How Promises School K-12 assists families with these goals and strives to make it possible for all children to receive the education they deserve.

Elizabeth Founder of Foundation Worldview She holds a B.S. from Gordon College in Elementary Education and Spanish, an M.S.Ed. from Northern Illinois University in Literacy Education, and an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Elizabeth began her professional career as an elementary teacher in a Christian school.
Several years into her teaching experience, Elizabeth realized that despite being raised in Christian homes, attending a Christian school, and being active in church, her students thought more like the culture than like Christ. Elizabeth began searching for materials that would equip her students to think critically, helping them discover that Christianity is the worldview that lines up with reality. After not finding any materials that met this need, she began creating a curriculum for her students.
Elizabeth first taught Foundation Comparative Worldview Curriculum as an after-school class for third through fifth graders, and the results were incredible! Students were transformed from passive recipients of information to active evaluators of every message they receive. Parents and teachers alike noticed the impact these materials had on students’ media consumption, academic achievement, and everyday habits. This transformation lasted beyond the elementary years and guided students’ thinking in junior high and beyond.
Top three takeaways
Parents teach their children the foundation of the Christian worldview so their children can carefully evaluate every idea they are presented with through the lens of the truth of God's word.
How Foundation Worldview equips children to carefully evaluate every idea they encounter and understand the truth of the biblical worldview.
How their lessons engage children and guide their thinking through their program.

Emma and Beth, CEO's and hosts of the peaceful homeschool podcast, These two homeschooling moms and longtime friends have raised their kids together in our homeschool community for the past 14 years are here to tell you that YOU can homeschool your kids. That YOU can have a peaceful relationship with them (most of the time). YOU can help your children to be successful and well-educated. YOU can give them the individual attention that they need and YOU can tailor their education to fit them.
They are here to help families to feel inspired to homeschool, to stay the course and to feel more confident in their choice. It doesn't need to be difficult if you have right the tools and mindset needed the journey will be sweet!
Top three takeaways
They want parents to understand that homeschooling at its best is a lifestyle of learning. It doesn't have to be public school at home.
If we keep the mindset that our goal is loving learning rather than checking the boxes it creates a totally different environment, prevents boredom and burnout and creates lifetime learners that can self-teach.
Homeschooling can be so much fun for the entire family if it is approached with flexibility and the mindset of learning over rigid academics

Erika Sagert is one of the teachers of the Hope Learning Center. Erika knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a teacher. Her grandmother and mother were both teachers and being able to realize this dream from such an early age has been nothing but a blessing in her life." Erika took a hiatus from teaching to raise her four children and once her oldest grew to school age, it was a natural transition to begin homeschooling.
For many of those homeschooling years, Erika taught classes in different locations and in 2015 Erika partnered with Kathleen Baker at Hope Learning Center. Here she began teaching elementary science, history, and high school English. Eventually she signed on with Academy Northwest© and became a teacher consultant. Erika has a passion for teaching students to be excellent, solid thinkers who are grounded in a Christian worldview. She firmly believes it is her job to guide students as they pursue their dreams and God-given abilities, all while fostering a lifelong love of learning."
