The Homeschool Advantage is a podcast about reclaiming learning as a way of life.
Hosted by educator, author, and instructional leader Bex Buzzie, the show explores how families, teachers, and educational leaders can support meaningful learning—whether children are homeschooled, enrolled in public or charter schools, or navigating a blend of both.
Drawing from over two decades in education and recent work in educational leadership, Bex brings together voices from across the learning landscape, including homeschool families, classroom teachers, curriculum creators, microschools, co-ops, and education innovators.
This is not a podcast about choosing the “perfect” system.
It’s about partnership, posture, and presence.
Whether you’re a parent supporting learning at home, a teacher rethinking instruction, or an educator seeking deeper alignment between school and life, The Homeschool Advantage offers thoughtful conversations, practical insights, and a return to the basics of how learning actually happens.
Because homeschooling isn’t a location.
It’s a posture.

Intro
Jodi and Eunice CEO and Founders of Edu-Fun Box. Jodi is a Teacher in Bangkok and Mom is the creative Entrepreneur both are very passionate about literacy. Jodi’s Education has been and will continue to be, a tool that has both terrified and delighted her while also preparing her for the future. Her first-year teacher saw that she was having some difficulties when she initially started her educational path. She believes that this is where her passion for teaching originally began as she saw the determination her teachers and mother had to ensure that nothing stood in her way. she’ll always be appreciative to her mother for dedicating her life to making sure that she believed she could do anything she set her mind to.
Eunice’s passion has always been for children’s well-being, be it in health and wellness, or education where children can develop at their own pace without any stress. With Covid taking away so much and putting children under pressure to ‘just catch up’, Eunice had a vision of creating a play-based learning environment. One day the thought came – why not education out of the box? After all, most people who have come up with a crazy idea, thought out of the box. And the rest is history!

- They believe that learning and understanding in the early years happen naturally and organically.
- Young children’s minds are so open and receptive to new information, every day is something different.

Jean Hall Author and CEO of Starlight Magazine, she is a writing coach for teens and has spent most of her adult life ding fun things with children of every age. But she always wanted to be a writer and felt a call to do so. In 2016 her dream of writing stories for children was realized and Jean signed her first book contract with Little Lamb Books. She was going to share her Bountiful Blessings a series of four picture books about the seasons and her first book was called The blessings of Fall which was released in September 2019. But then the publisher went out of business and so did her dreams or did they??
Through the cracks and broken places of her dream the Lord called her to write again. She writes to shine the light of Christ by uplifting and encouraging others through:
- Poems and devotionals for adults and children
- Fiction and Nonfiction Picture books and board books
- Stories and poems for children’s magazines
- “Slice of life” essays for anthologies like Chicken Soup for the Soul
- StarLight Magazine, her newest God-venture

She loves reading books, researching and finding great resources, organizing and making lists, and sharing what she knows and finds with others.
What sparked all of this was that early in her homeschool journey, she found a support group that met monthly. It was a safe place to learn from homeschool moms who were a little ahead of me on the journey. The support group became the lifeline that kept her going on difficult days. And now, she has the privilege of supporting other homeschool parents.
Top three takeaways
- How her work helps homeschool parents who are struggling and empowers them to become more confident in teaching their own child.
- The most important change you can make is to learn how to be a thermostat so you can set the tone of your home.
