Intro
Candace Smothers Author and Creator of Math Sharp Kids, homeschooled her children for 14 years and began work on a Math book in 1991. The first book she wrote was like any other, so she had to rethink what it was that she wanted to accomplish. She wanted her kids to learn simple math facts, not count on their fingers.
She didn't want to use the standard addition algorithm. Instead, she found an algorithm that corresponded with the way the facts were taught in the board and card game that she created. She wrote hundreds of addition problems and math drills. Addsharp to the Pirate Treasure is the first official game in the Mathsharp series, but she also has games for subtraction, doubling and halving, and multiplication and division.

Angela Hansen President and Founder of the American Academy, created to support parents to ensure that their children receive an education that works best for them. She began to realize that traditional education is truly a one size fits all model, but that most students do not fit that framework. Angela founded America Academy Of Strategic Education to allow parents and students to partner with their academic center to create customized plans and schedules to best support a wide variety of families and learners.

Emily CEO of Teacher Tutor Mom, her goal is to equip parents to empower their learners. This includes providing resources for parents to access or print out, suggestions for helpful physical and online resources like where to find good prices on used books, go-to websites for purchasing curriculum, supplies that she find helpful in my homeschooling. She also enjoys researching and sharing what she has learned. She plans to develop articles addressing with ways to help struggling readers – both resources and methods. Trained as a reading specialist as well as Orton Gillingham Emily uses these to equip parents with strategies.

Dr. Thatch received her Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering and later added School Administration & Supervision and earned a Specialist Diploma as well as Ph.D. in Science and Mathematics Education with a Physics specialization."

Suzike, CEO of Bertinha and By Suzike. Suzike lives in Portugal and she began to notice that there was a huge influx of Americans coming to live in Portugal and to specifically homeschool their children there. When it was time for Suzike's daughter to start school, she made the decision to educate her daughter Felisberta at home. Suzike began to create a variety of resources to meet her daughter's needs.
